Diagnosis: Breast cancer with pulmonary metastases
"In 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I took two additional sets of analyses. Unfortunately, they confirmed my diagnosis twice and later developed the pulmonary metastases, too. It was a shock. I was 34 years old and a life ahead of me and they told me that I could die. I cracked; I fell into a terrible depression. I was crying incessantly. I was fortunate to have a solidary family who helped me and supported me hugely.
A cousin came to me with an article from a newspaper, where they described Dr. Tutu’s treatments. She begged me to try it, although she knew I was against such treatments, I am a very rational person. I was afraid at first, I was shaking at my first consultation; I expected I would be told that I could die and that I had to be prepared for a very difficult treatment; that there were very slight chances. To my amazement, the doctor asked me why I was so downcast, as if the world had just collapsed over me and what a pity for my youth that I should be so sad. I told him what his colleagues had said, that there was no chance; that they had to operate me, that there were metastases, that they were reticent and evasive. Dr. Tutu told me that they made pranks sometimes, the physicians, and that there were chances to be sure, that he had treated cases like mine before; I burst into crying, I thought he mocked at me downright. I was completely disappointed, but the doctor told me in an authoritative tone of voice: do you want to get healthy, trust me, will you solve anything crying? We will look for a solution and I promise I will help you as much as I can with my knowledge and my skills. I had never seen so much determination in a person. I entrusted myself to him and I agreed to begin the treatment.
In underwent acupuncture, diet therapy, phytotherapy and I massaged the specific areas with herbal cremes daily. When I was more downcast, Dr. Tutu would find time to listen to me. I thank him and I apologize for all the lamentation he heard. He was also the one who told me that God showed me the way, not him. I thought of God for the first time in years; I hadn’t been brought up a believer, my parents were atheists. I was shown that miracles can happen and that each life can be a miracle, now I know that God does exist, He is not just legends. My disease was just the counterpart of a misled life; it helped me find myself and appreciate my existence. I thank Dr Tutu for helping me open my eyes with one word."
